Tagging the Blog

November 30, 2005

I’m so behind the times. I don’t even properly tag my blog entries. Recent adventures with Flickr have shown me the benefits of metadata tagging firsthand, and now I am feeling increasingly embarassed that I do not tag the blog.

So. What’s the easiest/best way(s) to tag my WordPress entries? There doesn’t seem to be much in the way of built-in facilities to tag. Technorati suggests that I do it something like this:

A Great TV Commercial for a TV You Probably Shouldn’t Buy

November 29, 2005

I don’t watch TV, so it’s not breaking my heart that my TV is broken. I had a 27″ model that was ten or fifteen years old, I guess, so it’s not big surprise. Will I buy a new one? Sure. There are still console games to play and DVDs to watch. (Not that I have a DVD player right now, but that’s another story.)

So I need a new TV. But I probably won’t even think about getting one until after the holidays. Even then I may just get a used one off Craig’s List for $50 or something. The very idea that I would go buy some enormous flat-screen plasma, wall-hanging thing that looks like the main screen of the USS Enterprise is unthinkable. You only buy something like that if you really like watching TV, and I don’t.

So I’m in no danger of buying Sony’s new Bravia LCD television. You shouldn’t buy it either, because Sony is a nasty company that uses music DRM for the sole purpose of hurting their competitors, but you should watch the commercial for the TV. It’s beautiful and it will make you happy. Trust me.

Oatmeal For Every Health Problem

Oatmeal

There has been yet another breakthrough advance in oat technology, ladies and gentlemen. Now not only does Quaker make an oatmeal that will protect you from your first (second?) heart attack, now there is a variety that will make you thinner. (Tape measure not actually included.) No word yet on whether the Quaker Oats guy is going to become thinner now.

I’m waiting for the box that says PROSTATE SHRINKING FORUMULA!
