Radical Anti-spam Suggestion

Slashdot is discussing a microsoft-watch.com story about a new scheme for busting spam that the software giant is dreaming up. To wit, they hope to capitalize on the innovative input method of Dance Dance Revolution, a console game which actually involves dancing on a sensitive pad (and one which my own kids play regularly).

People really like stomping with two feet to delete spam,’ said Kevin Schofield, general manager of strategy and communications at Microsoft Research.

I admit that I am fascinated by DDR and with new methods of computer interaction in general, but here is my own radical suggestion to Microsoft about what we’d like better than stomping on spam: not getting it in the first place.
